SWT-MAT1 Tarpaulin Welding Machine: Industry Benchmark forEfficient Welding Technology

Aug . 06, 2025 17:36

Share:

SWT-MAT1 Tarpaulin welding machine is a high-performance welding equipment designed for the advertising industry. It adopts advanced welding technology and can quickly and accurately complete the welding of various types of PVC membrane, waterproof TPO tarpaulins. This  welding machines has become the preferred equipment for advertising production, exhibition display and outdoor decoration industries with its excellent performance, stable quality and user-friendly operation interface.

Product Feature:

1.CONTROL SYSTEM

Microcomputer chip control system shows temperature and speed that operation accuracy is high and protection is strong.

2.PRESSURE SYSTEM

Belt and pressure rollers can be transformed that balances the pressure and walking, which keeps perfect welding seam.

3.ACCURATE POSITIONING SYSTEM

It ensures walking straightly without deviation.

4.EFFICIENT WELDING NOZZLE

Ant-scald protection design with maximizing heat volume and air volume.

How to use a tarpaulin welder (such as SWT-MAT1) to weld aquaculture tarpaulins?

1.Temperature and speed test (important!):

Always test the welding with scraps of tarpaulin first!

Simulate welding on scraps, adjust temperature and pushing speed until you find the best combination:

Temperature too low: material does not melt enough, adhesion is not strong, and it is easy to tear. The weld is hard but not truly fused.

Temperature too high: material is charred, yellowed, brittle, or even burned through. Excessive smoke and unpleasant odors are generated.

Speed too fast: material is not heated enough, melting is not sufficient, resulting in cold or false welding.

Speed too slow: material is overheated and easily charred or deformed.

Ideal effect: ** The weld is flat, smooth, translucent (for PVC), strong after cooling, and the material is evenly fused on both sides of the weld. When tearing hard, the damage should occur in the tarpaulin itself, not at the weld.

  1. Start welding:

Press the front end of the welding nozzle gently on the upper surface of the overlapping tarpaulin, located on the center line of the overlapping area.

Heat and move at the same time: Turn on the hot air switch (usually there is a button on the handle of the welder), and hot air will blow out from the gap under the welding nozzle. Push the welder slowly, evenly and steadily along the predetermined welding line.

Apply appropriate pressure: Apply uniform and moderate pressure downward through the welding nozzle. Too little pressure will result in insufficient fusion; too much pressure may crush the molten material or make the welding nozzle move poorly. The roller design of SWT-MAT1 helps to maintain uniform speed and stability.

  1. Keep the operation stable:

Keep the welding nozzle parallel to the surface of the tarpaulin and move at a constant speed.

Follow the front end of the welding nozzle with your eyes to ensure that it always moves along the aligned overlapping center line.

For long welds, do not pause in the middle. If you need to pause, turn off the hot air after the welding nozzle leaves the material. When you restart, you need to move the welding nozzle slightly back to the welded area to reheat and fuse a few centimeters before continuing.

  1. Handling corners and curves:

At corners, slow down and adjust the welder angle slightly if necessary to ensure that the tip always covers the overlap area to be welded.

Avoid pulling the tarp too much at corners.

  1. Finishing the weld:

After welding to the end, turn off the hot air switch, let the tip stay at the end for a few seconds (using residual heat), and then lift the tip away from the material.

Let the weld **cool naturally** for a few minutes. Never pull or bend the weld when it is not cooled.

Comprehensive Guide to Plastic Extrusion Welding Techniques and Equipment Selection

Plastic extrusion welding is a versatile and efficient process used to join thermoplastic materials. This technique is widely employed across various industries, from automotive and construction to marine and chemical processing. At MM Tech Weld, we specialize in providing high-quality plastic extrusion welders and related solutions. This article delves into the intricacies of plastic extrusion welding, its applications, benefits, and key considerations for choosing the right equipment. Understanding this process can significantly improve your project efficiency and product quality. Plastic extrusion welding is a process where a thermoplastic welding material, typically a rod or wire, is melted and fed into the joint between two thermoplastic workpieces. The welding material is melted using a heated shoe, and as it cools, it fuses the two pieces together, creating a strong, leak-proof bond. Unlike other welding methods, extrusion welding doesn’t require the base materials to be completely melted, making it ideal for thicker sections and on-site repairs.
